01. Establish the requirements

Document workloads, dependencies, business priorities and constraints. Define what a successful outcome would look like.

02. Evaluate the tradeoffs

Compare architecture options against availability, performance, security and operational effort. Record assumptions and unresolved questions.

03. Plan the transition

Set implementation stages, acceptance criteria and rollback conditions. Assign responsibility for each decision and handover.

04. Make operations sustainable

Document the system and its limitations. Establish monitoring, recovery procedures and the information needed for future changes.
